No Girls Allowed. Whistler Olympics 2010.

I arrived in Whistler for Christmas the same day that announcement was made that the case of exclusion of Women’s Ski Jumping in the 2010 Olympics would not be addressed by the Supreme Court of Canada.

The girls have been battling for over a year now and have endured an endless roller coaster of hope and disappointment in standing up for their rights. According to the Canadian Charter of Rights and many peoples values of equality and freedom these girls are deserving of a future in their sport and to compete in the Whistler Olympics, but the International Olympic Committee does not agree. I am saddened and disappointed for the girls, and find the decision so backwards it is nearly laughable. Come on people it is nearly 2010.

I am so proud of all of these ladies and support them all the way. Check out Zoya’s interview with CBC yesterday http://www.cbc.ca/video/news/player.html?clipid=1366615718
